Coach Marissa Acosta is the Head Boys/Girls Cross Country & Girls Track Coach at Alice High School. She has a lot of love and passion in the sports she coaches and the student-athletes she works with. She is starting her 10th year of teaching & coaching at Alice ISD. She has coached a numerous amount of school record breakers, district champions, areas champions, regional qualifiers and state qualifiers in both cross country and track. She was a presenter at the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Clinic in 2017 and spoke on the drills she uses to coach the long and triple jump. Fun fact: She still holds the Alice HS school record in the 4x400 M. Relay & pole vault that were set in 2010.
Before working in Alice she attended Texas A&M University Kingsville where she graduated with her bachelors degree in kinesiology with a support field in special education. She ran cross country, indoor track & outdoor track on scholarship for the Javelinas in years 2010-2014. In 2020 she was selected into the Javelina Track & Field All-Decade Team.
