Coach Castellano has a 24-year coaching career with stops at Refugio, LaMarque, Calallen, Sinton, Beeville, and Taft. He has coached every sport boys and girls( JH and HS). As a former Defensive Coordinator, he has a 105-28 record, 19 straight playoff appearances and 5 state semifinal appearances in football. Coach Castellano also has 8 state champions in track and field. As the Head Football Coach at Taft HS, he turned a 7-23 program into 30-17 and 4 straight playoff appearances, 1st district title in 36 years and reached the 3rd round for first time since 1982. Coach Castellano was named 2020 Caller Times Coach of the Year, 2022 San Pat News Coach of the Year and 2022 District 16-3A Coach of the Year. Coach Castellano serves on the Board of Directors Coastal Bend Coaches Association and is a member of the Texas HS Coaches Association and Texas HS Athletic Directors Association. He is also a member of the Texas HS Hispanic Coaches Association.
